Additional Program Registration Forms

Registered departments and agencies may add or update Knox program options after their initial Knox Rapid Access System registration. These additional program registrations help determine which programs are available within your jurisdiction, how products are keyed, and how access is managed for specific use cases.

Use the forms on this page to request or configure additional Knox programs for your department or agency. Some program requests require an authorized signature from personnel currently on file with Knox.

Knox Dual Lock Release

Use the Dual Lock Release Form to indicate whether your department or agency will approve Dual Lock Knox products within your jurisdiction.

A Dual Lock product includes two keyways. The top keyway is always keyed to the primary responding agency. The bottom keyway may be keyed for mutual aid access by another responding department or for property owner access, depending on the situation. Departments must have a Dual Lock Release Form on file to approve or deny Dual Lock products within their jurisdiction. The form also allows the department to restrict which entities may be used as the secondary system code.

Departments may select one of two options:

  • Approve Dual Lock Knox products in the jurisdiction
  • Decline Dual Lock Knox products and remain the only agency with access to Knox products in the jurisdiction

An original authorized signature is required.

Knox FDC Program Registration

Use the FDC Program Registration Form to register for the Knox FDC Express Program.

The Knox FDC Program helps protect fire department connections from theft, damage, and debris. Once the FDC Express Program form is completed, the department is added to the Knox Express system for FDC caps. The form notes that this does not impact the department’s current KnoxBox program.

The form is also used to request Knox FDC Wrenches for the department’s first response apparatus and applicable support vehicles, including automatic or mutual aid departments. Knox FDC Wrenches are required to open Knox FDC, Storz, and Standpipe Locking Caps.

Before submitting the form, the department should confirm:

  • Which locking cap types will be implemented, such as FDC Lock, Standpipe Lock, or Storz Lock
  • Whether the department will enact an ordinance
  • Estimated annual units installed
  • Whether the jurisdiction uses 2.5-inch National Standard Thread for FDC and standpipes
  • Whether the jurisdiction uses Storz adapters using NST thread
  • How many FDC Wrenches are needed for department and mutual aid apparatus

If the jurisdiction uses non-standard lock cap thread specifications, additional thread information and samples may be required before registration can be processed.

Knox HomeBox Program Registration

Use the HomeBox Program Registration Form to register a Knox HomeBox program for your jurisdiction.

Knox HomeBox programs are developed, coordinated, and overseen by the registered jurisdiction, with boxes keyed to the assigned Knox system code. The form is used to identify the department, system code, HomeBox Program Coordinator, and authorized signer for the program.

The HomeBox program is intended to support rapid access when responding to seniors, chronically ill residents, and homebound residents. The form notes that these programs may help prevent forced entry and reduce costly property damage.

Knox Submaster Program Registration

Use the Sub-Master Program Registration Form to establish one or more Sub-Masters under your department’s Knox Master Key.

A Sub-Master may be used when a department needs to define additional access under its existing Knox Master Key system, such as for Police, EMS, or another approved intended use. The form requires the department to identify the number of Sub-Masters requested, the number of keys, the intended use, and who will pay the Sub-Master fee.

By signing the form, the department acknowledges that it is requesting a Sub-Master System, that a one-time setup fee applies, that processing may take approximately 4–6 weeks, and that each item ordered with a Sub-Master will incur an additional charge. Requests are processed only when signed by personnel currently on file with Knox as authorized signers with both Keys and Orders authority.

Before submitting a program registration form

Before completing a program registration form, confirm that your department or agency has the information needed to process the request. This may include:

  • Department or agency name
  • Knox system code
  • Program coordinator or authorized signer information
  • Jurisdiction or service area information
  • Program-specific requirements
  • Required signatures
  • Mailing or shipping address, when applicable

Program registration requests may be delayed if the form is incomplete, missing required signatures, or submitted by someone who is not authorized to make changes for the department or agency.
